AURORA, Colo. — In a heartbreaking incident, a pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a trash truck in Aurora. The unfortunate accident occurred near the intersection of East Alameda Parkway and South Buckley Road at approximately 12:15 p.m. on April 4. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, the 31-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on April 7, as confirmed by the Aurora Police Department.
The investigation conducted by authorities revealed that the pedestrian was crossing Alameda Parkway on the east side of Buckley Road, disregarding the crossing signal at the time of the accident. Tragically, a Suzuki trash truck traveling eastbound collided with the pedestrian. Both the driver and the passenger of the trash truck emerged unharmed, according to a press release from the police department.
Importantly, investigators have ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors to the crash. Consequently, no charges are expected to be filed, as affirmed by the Aurora Police. Nevertheless, this incident serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic signals and exercising caution while navigating the streets.
